iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro: Highlights and Pakistan Prices
Apple finally made a foldable — and called it Duo, not Ultra. The best bits of the 9 September launch, every video, and what all of it costs in Pakistan.

Apple folded.
After six years of watching Samsung, Huawei, Honor and Oppo hinge their phones in half, Apple finally did it — and it did not call it the iPhone Ultra, which is what almost every leak insisted. It is the iPhone Duo, it costs $1,999, and the people who have held one are not being cautious about it. Dave2D's video is titled "They NAILED This."
The event was on 9 September, titled "Surprise and Shine", and it was John Ternus's first keynote as Apple's CEO after taking over on 1 September. He had a good one.
Here is the whole thing, best parts first.

The best parts
Four things from this launch genuinely matter. Everything else is detail.
1. The iPhone Duo is real, and it is not a first-generation mess
This is the headline and it deserves to be. Apple skipped an entire generation of foldable growing pains by arriving late — a virtually crease-free 7.6-inch inner display, a titanium frame with a carbon-fibre-supported hinge, and IP68 water resistance, which most foldables still cannot claim.

2. The camera does something genuinely new
The iPhone 18 Pro has a variable aperture main camera — a real, physical, six-bladed mechanism cut from laser-formed polymer composite that opens and closes between f/1.48 and f/4.0.
Phone cameras have faked depth of field with software for a decade. This one changes it optically, the way a real lens does. It is the first thing in years that a photographer would call an actual advance rather than a bigger number.
3. The battery is the longest Apple has ever shipped
45 hours of video on the iPhone 18 Pro Max, 36 on the Pro. Combined with charging that hits 50% in 15 minutes — half an hour faster than before — this is the least you will have thought about an iPhone's battery in a decade.
4. There is no regular iPhone 18 this year
Easy to miss, and it changes how you should buy. Apple has split its launch cycle: only the Pro models and the Duo arrived now. The standard iPhone 18, the 18e and the iPhone Air 2 all come in spring 2027.
If you were waiting for a normal, non-Pro iPhone, you are waiting another six months.
The iPhone Duo, in detail
| Price | $1,999 (256GB) up to 2TB |
| Pre-order | 16 October |
| Ships | 23 October |
| Inner display | 7.6″ Super Retina — 50% larger than an 18 Pro Max |
| Outer display | 5.4″ |
| Chip | A20 Pro with a dedicated display engine for both screens |
| Cameras | 48MP Dual Fusion + 2× telephoto, 12MP outer selfie, under-display FaceTime camera |
| Battery | 44 hours video on the outer screen, 24 hours using both |
| Build | Titanium frame, carbon-fibre hinge support, IP68 |
| Security | Touch ID in the side button — no Face ID |
| Connectivity | eSIM only, mmWave 5G |
| Colours | Star White, Night Sky |
Two of those lines deserve attention. Touch ID instead of Face ID is a real change — the folding design leaves no room for the Face ID array, so Apple moved authentication to the power button. And the Duo is eSIM-only, which matters more in Pakistan than anywhere else on this page. More on that below.
What the people who held it say
Video: iPhone Duo Impressions — They NAILED This by Dave2D. Embedded with credit.

Both are hands-on impressions from a controlled Apple event, not long-term reviews. Nobody has lived with a Duo yet, and the question that decides every foldable — how the hinge and screen hold up after a year in a pocket — is unanswerable until people have done it.
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max
| Price | $1,199 (18 Pro) · $1,299 (18 Pro Max) |
| Pre-order | 12 September |
| Ships | 18 September |
| Chip | A20 Pro, 2nm, 20% faster performance cores |
| Main camera | 48MP Fusion, variable aperture f/1.48–f/4.0 |
| Telephoto | 12MP, 2× zoom |
| Battery | 36 hours (Pro) · 45 hours (Pro Max) |
| Charging | 50% in 15 minutes |
| Dynamic Island | Smaller, tracks three activities at once |
| Colours | Glacier, Burgundy |
That is a $100 increase over last year's Pro. The 2nm A20 Pro is the first of its kind in a phone, and "Pro Controls" gives manual control over the new aperture rather than burying it.

What this costs in Pakistan
The part everyone actually wants. Pakistani channel VideoWaliSarkar went through the local pricing question the day after the keynote.
Video: iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPhone Duo Launch | Price in Pakistan? by VideoWaliSarkar. Embedded with credit.
Here is the honest position on numbers. At roughly Rs 280 to the dollar:
| Device value | Realistic landed cost | |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone 18 Pro | ~Rs 336,000 | ~Rs 540,000 – 580,000 |
| iPhone 18 Pro Max | ~Rs 364,000 | ~Rs 570,000 – 620,000 |
| iPhone Duo | ~Rs 560,000 | Comfortably past Rs 750,000 |
Treat every one of those as an estimate. FBR has not published a valuation ruling for the 18 series yet, so nothing circulating right now — including this — is authoritative. For scale, our own tables put PTA registration on an iPhone 17 Pro at roughly Rs 193,500 on passport and Rs 210,300 on CNIC, and the 18 Pro will land near or above that. Run your variant on the PTA tax calculator, and expect the number to firm up over the coming weeks.
The eSIM question
The Duo is eSIM-only. In some markets that is a non-issue. In Pakistan people assume it is a dealbreaker — and it is not, but you do need to plan for it.
All three networks now support eSIM: Jazz converts free, while Zong and Ufone 5G typically charge around Rs 2,000. It is a service-centre visit, not an obstacle. Worth knowing before you import a phone with no SIM tray.
Two foldables, one autumn
This is the part nobody local is joining up. Pakistan is getting two flagship foldables this season, and neither is officially launching here:
- The Galaxy Z Fold 8 at $1,899 — which Samsung Pakistan has said nothing about, landing around Rs 650,000
- The iPhone Duo at $1,999, landing higher still
After tax, a foldable in Pakistan now costs more than a used car. Both are extraordinary objects. Both are also unsupported grey imports here, with the most fragile component in consumer electronics.
The rest of the launch
Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4
$399 and $799. The health sensing is the real upgrade: heart rate sampled 60× more frequently and HRV 24× more often than before, feeding a new Readiness score. There is a Health Age metric, a VO2 Max test that uses your phone's camera, and a ceramic shield that Apple says is 60% tougher than the old glass. The Ultra 4 claims over two days of battery.

AirPods 5
$129, or $149 with the wireless charging case. Apple claims 50% more active noise cancellation than the previous generation in an open-ear design, four hours with ANC on, 20 hours total with the case, plus Live Translation and on-stem volume control.

So what should you actually do?
If you want an iPhone 18 Pro: wait for real Pakistani stock and a settled PTA figure. The first units to arrive here will be the most expensive they ever are, and the tax number is still a guess.
If you want a good iPhone right now: this is the best week of the year to buy the outgoing model. A brand-new PTA-approved iPhone 17 Pro is Rs 535,000, a 17 Pro Max 1TB is Rs 475,000, and a like-new 16 Pro Max is Rs 400,000. Those prices soften as the 18 Pro lands — watch them over the next fortnight.
If you want the Duo: you have until 23 October, and you should spend that time arranging for someone to bring it rather than buying grey-market locally. The Fold 8 guide covers exactly how that works — personal baggage, PTA registration on the passport rate, and what warranty you are and are not getting.
If you were waiting for a normal iPhone 18: it does not exist until spring 2027. Buy a 17, or wait six months.

One last thing
A launch like this is when Pakistani prices go strange. Numbers get quoted with confidence that nobody can back up, "PTA approved" starts meaning three different things, and the gap between the best and worst price for the identical phone gets very wide for a few weeks.
That is the whole reason Harib exists: transparent prices you can compare against each other, sellers whose history you can actually check, and a community of people here — buyers, tech obsessives and the honest shopkeepers who have been doing this for years — who would rather the real numbers were public.
Sellers can list the iPhone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max and iPhone Duo by name on Harib from today — we added all three to the catalogue when we published this. List yours here, or see what is already listed. harib.com.pk
Announced at Apple's "Surprise and Shine" event on 9 September 2026. US prices are Apple's official figures; Pakistani figures are estimates — FBR has not issued a valuation ruling for the iPhone 18 series, so PTA amounts will move. All videos belong to their respective creators and are embedded with credit. Harib listing prices are live at the time of writing and change as items sell.
