When you use Harib, we collect information you provide directly and information generated through your use of the platform:
- Account information — your name, email address, phone number, profile photo, and username when you create an account.
- Listings and content — photos, descriptions, prices, specs, and other data you provide when creating listings, briefs, community posts, or reviews.
- Messages — the content of messages you send and receive through the Harib chat system.
- Location data — the city or area you set in your profile. We do not collect precise GPS location without your explicit consent.
- Usage data — pages viewed, searches performed, interactions with listings, and general usage patterns to improve the platform.
- Device information — browser type, operating system, and device identifiers for analytics and security purposes.
2. How we use your information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Harib platform.
- To facilitate buying and selling between users.
- To display your listings, briefs, and reviews to other users.
- To send you notifications about messages, offers, and activity on your listings.
- To verify seller accounts and maintain trust on the platform.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
- To analyze usage trends and improve user experience.

3. Information sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
- With other users — your public profile, listings, reviews, and community posts are visible to other users. Messages are only visible to participants.
- Service providers — we use third-party services for hosting (Vercel), database (Supabase), analytics (Vercel Analytics), and image storage. These providers process data on our behalf under strict agreements.
- Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Harib and its users.
4. Data security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS), secure authentication, and access controls. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data retention
We retain your account data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or security purposes. Listings and reviews may be anonymized rather than deleted to preserve marketplace integrity.
6. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Object to processing of your data for marketing purposes.
- Export your data in a portable format.

7. Cookies and tracking
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and maintain your session. We use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to understand how the platform is used — these collect anonymous, aggregated data and do not track you across other websites.
8. Children's privacy
Harib is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will delete their account and data.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the platform or via email. Continued use of Harib after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
