Motorola Is Back in Pakistan — and the Moto G77 5G Is the Phone It Chose to Return With
Motorola has officially returned to Pakistan through CoreTECH, and its first phone here is the Moto G77 5G at Rs 92,999. A 5,000-nit AMOLED and a 108MP camera lead the sheet — but the chipset is where the compromise lives. Here is the full picture, in English and Urdu.

For the last few years, buying a Motorola in Pakistan meant finding an importer, accepting whatever warranty the shopkeeper felt like offering, and hoping the IMEI cleared PTA. That era is over. Motorola has partnered with CoreTECH — the distributor that already handles Xiaomi, Huawei and Apple here — and the brand's first official device is the Moto G77 5G, launched 8 August 2026 at Rs 92,999.
We have given it a Harib Pick, and we want to be precise about why, because it is not the phone we would have expected to earn one. It has a mediocre processor. It charges slowly. It wins anyway, and the reason is a single component.

The one spec that decides everything
Most phones between Rs 85,000 and Rs 100,000 peak somewhere around 1,000–2,000 nits. The G77 hits 5,000.
That is not a benchmark trophy. It is the difference between reading a WhatsApp message at 2pm on Ferozepur Road and cupping your hand over the screen like a visor. If you are a rider, a field salesman, a shopkeeper who steps outside twenty times a day — anyone whose phone lives in daylight — this is the most consequential spec on the entire sheet, and nothing else at this price comes close.
Add a 1.5K resolution, 10-bit colour and 120Hz, and you have a panel that belongs on a phone costing considerably more. Motorola also includes Water Touch, so it keeps registering input with wet fingers.
Where the money did not go
The processor. The Dimensity 6400 is a 6nm chip with two Cortex-A76 cores at 2.5GHz, six A55 cores, and a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. Cortex-A76 is a 2018 core design. A two-core Mali-G57 is entry-level graphics.
For WhatsApp, YouTube, Facebook, banking apps, Careem, camera and browsing, it will be smooth — and the 120Hz panel does a lot of the heavy lifting on perceived speed. For PUBG at high settings, Genshin, or heavy multitasking, it is not enough, and you can buy more compute for the same money.
The charging. 30W on a 5,200mAh cell, no wireless. Rivals routinely ship 45W–67W. It is not slow, but it is behind.
New: what else Rs 93,000 buys today
This is the most crowded bracket in Pakistan. Our own guide to phones under Rs 100,000 puts the Redmi Note 15 Pro at roughly Rs 89,000–95,000, and Infinix, Tecno, Samsung's A-series and Honor all field devices around this money.
Against that field:
| If you want… | Buy |
|---|---|
| The best screen, outdoor visibility, official warranty | Moto G77 5G |
| Faster charging and stronger gaming performance | Redmi Note 15 Pro or an Infinix/Tecno flagship-lite |
| Longest software support and resale value | Samsung A-series |
| Clean software with no bloat | Moto G77 5G |
The honest summary: the G77 is the best display in the bracket by a wide margin, competitive on cameras and build, and behind on raw performance and charging speed. Nobody at this price wins everything.
Used: the argument that actually threatens it
Here is where it gets interesting, and where most launch articles stop.
Rs 93,000 on the used market in Pakistan does not buy you a mid-ranger. It buys you a former flagship. Right now on Harib:
- Google Pixel 7, 128GB, like-new — Rs 75,000 (PCSIR Phase 2, Lahore)
- iPhone 12, 64GB, used-good — Rs 80,000 (Lahore)
Both are cheaper than the G77, and both will take better photographs. The Pixel 7's camera processing is in a different league to anything a Dimensity 6400 can do, and the iPhone 12 still shoots video no Rs 93,000 Android can match.
So why would you buy the Motorola?
Warranty and battery. A 2022 Pixel 7 or a 2020 iPhone 12 is on its original battery, three-to-six years old, with no warranty and no service centre if the board dies. You are buying someone else's wear. The G77 is sealed, has a fresh 5,200mAh cell, and CoreTECH is contractually on the hook if it fails.
Brightness, again. The Pixel 7 peaks around 1,400 nits. The iPhone 12 around 1,200. Outdoors, the G77 embarrasses both.
Storage. 256GB with a microSD slot, versus 128GB and 64GB fixed.
The used route is the better buy if photography is your priority and you accept the risk. The new route is better if you want a device that will simply work for the next three years without drama.
Pros and cons
Pros
- A 5,000-nit 1.5K 10-bit AMOLED that has no rival at this price
- Official PTA-approved stock with real manufacturer warranty
- 256GB storage plus microSD up to 2TB — increasingly rare
- IP64 and MIL-STD-810H: it is built to survive actual Pakistani conditions
- Near-stock Android 16, refreshingly free of preinstalled clutter
- 5,200mAh should comfortably clear a day
- 182g and 7.33mm — normal, not a brick
Cons
- Dimensity 6400 is the weakest link; serious gaming is off the table
- 30W charging is behind the bracket, and there is no wireless
- The 3× "lossless" zoom is a sensor crop, not a telephoto — it falls apart in low light
- No update-commitment published for Pakistan yet
- 8MP ultrawide is a clear step down from the main sensor
- Used flagships at this money take better photos
The verdict
Buy the Moto G77 5G if your phone spends time in daylight, you want an official warranty, and you would rather have a superb screen than a fast chip. For riders, sales staff, shopkeepers and anyone who reads outdoors, nothing else at Rs 92,999 is close.
Buy a used Pixel 7 or iPhone 12 instead if photography is what you care about most, and you are comfortable buying a battery that already has years on it — check what is listed on Harib right now before you decide.
Buy something else entirely if you game seriously. This is not the phone, and no amount of screen quality changes that.
Motorola has come back to Pakistan with a device that is genuinely excellent at two things and openly mediocre at a third. It earns the Harib Pick because at Rs 92,999 nobody else gives you that display with a warranty behind it — not because it wins on every line of the spec sheet. It does not.
Watch it first
Before you commit, it is worth seeing the thing in someone's hand. Pakistani channel VideoWaliSarkar got hold of a retail unit and posted a full unboxing — in-hand size, what is actually in the box, and both Pantone finishes on camera.
It is a first look rather than a long-term review, so treat it as a hardware tour, not a verdict on battery life or thermals. All credit for the footage below goes to them.

Prices confirmed at launch on 8 August 2026 and may vary by retailer. Used listing prices are live on Harib at the time of writing and change as items sell. Always confirm PTA approval and warranty terms before paying.
