26 Minutes of GTA 6: Everything in the Extended Look

Rockstar showed 26 minutes of GTA 6 on PS5. Every system, the map size, the Cyberleek leak drama, the criticism — and what it means if you are buying a console in Pakistan.

26 Minutes of GTA 6: Everything in the Extended Look

For three years we have lived on scraps. A trailer. Another trailer. A delay. Then another delay. Leaks, fake leaks, leaks of the fake leaks, and a thousand YouTube thumbnails with red arrows promising GAMEPLAY LEAKED!!! that turned out to be a modded GTA V clip.

That is over. On 27 August 2026, Rockstar dropped 26 minutes and 48 seconds of Grand Theft Auto VI — real, uncut, and captured entirely from in-game footage on a PlayStation 5.

Within hours it had a quarter of a million views, 79,000 likes and 16,000 comments. The top one, sitting at 3,300 likes, reads simply:

"a moment of silence for people that didn't make it here"

Another, at 1,900:

"Bro, I went through middle school, high school, and college... now I need to request time off work for this"

That is the mood. Here is everything in it.

Watch it first

Watch on YouTube — video belongs to its original creator.

Video: Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look by Rockstar Games. Embedded with credit — this is Rockstar's own footage, and it deserves to be watched on their channel.

One genuinely strange detail before we get into it: this premiered on Netflix. Not a games showcase, not a livestream — Netflix, at 3pm ET, several hours before it reached YouTube at 9pm. A video game trailer treated like a film release. That tells you exactly how Rockstar sees the scale of this thing.

First, the leaker who beat Rockstar to it: Cyberleek

You cannot tell the story of this reveal without Cyberleek.

In the days before the Extended Look, an anonymous leaker operating under that name started dumping alleged GTA 6 footage online — Jason shooting hoops, a police chase, a trip to the beach, and what looked like the complete Leonida map. The clips appeared to come from an older build, possibly 2024 or earlier. They were convincing enough that Take-Two started firing off DMCA takedowns, and Rockstar publicly called the unauthorised gameplay "heartbreaking" while asking fans not to spread spoilers.

For about a week, a stranger on the internet was setting the agenda for the biggest entertainment release of the decade. Then Rockstar dropped 26 clean minutes at 4K and reclaimed the entire conversation in one move.

Cyberleek's own response, posted after the reveal, was pure gallows humour:

"I know you guys are surprised to see me in the GTA6 extended look netflix trailer and yes i was the rockstar marketing department campaign all along"

Two things are actually worth taking from this. One: the leaks were real, and comparing them to the finished footage tells you how much a game changes in two years — the Extended Look looks dramatically better than the compressed, older-build clips that circulated. Two: everything you are about to read is from Rockstar's official footage. If you want to go into November unspoiled, be careful what you click between now and then, because Cyberleek is unlikely to be the last.

Two protagonists, one story, and a relationship that can break

Jason Duval is ex-military, a drug runner, tired. Lucia Caminos is a fighter, fresh out of prison, and not tired at all. Rockstar has been open about the Bonnie and Clyde influence, and the footage leans into it — including quiet moments, the two of them holding hands, that no previous GTA would have bothered with.

The big mechanical reveal is that you switch between them mid-mission, GTA V style. But there is a twist: some jobs only one of them can take. You choose who goes. That is a meaningfully different design from GTA V, where Michael, Franklin and Trevor were largely interchangeable tools.

And underneath it all sits the system everyone is going to be talking about: your actions affect their relationship, and Rockstar says the consequences cut deeper than Red Dead Redemption 2's honour system did. Walk down a street openly carrying a rifle and the world reacts. Pet a dog and — genuinely — a little angel icon appears.

Combat that finally looks modern

The most common complaint about GTA V in 2026 is that it controls like a game from 2013, because it is. The Extended Look answers that directly:

  • Gunplay is visibly smoother, with tighter aiming
  • A slow-motion mechanic carries over from Red Dead Redemption 2's Dead Eye
  • Hand-to-hand combat has dodges and contextual finishers — one of which is Lucia driving a stiletto heel into an attacker's face
  • Police chases show Jason leaning out and firing at pursuing cars

Your body remembers what you did to it

This is the detail that made people rewatch. Jason and Lucia physically change based on how you play them.

Spend time at the bench press and they visibly build muscle. Go days without sleep, run from the police for hours, or take them on a multi-day bender, and it shows on them. Rockstar has done fitness systems before — San Andreas famously let CJ get fat — but this is that idea rebuilt with a decade of technology behind it.

There is a companion system to it that is easy to miss: fashion. Rockstar has had Miami-based stylist Jillian Carr working on the game since 2023, building what they call a "fashion ecosystem." Vice City, in Rockstar's framing, is a city built on vanity. What you wear is not a cosmetic menu; it is characterisation.

The map, and everything you can do in it

The state of Leonida — Rockstar's fictional Florida — is on display throughout, and the scale is the headline. Based on hands-on previews, the GTA 6 map is reportedly around three times the size of Red Dead Redemption 2's and twice the size of GTA 5's, with Vice City alone roughly twice the size of Los Santos. Treat the exact multiples as preview reporting rather than a Rockstar spec sheet — but every second of aerial footage in this video supports the general claim.

The sheer variety of activity shown in 26 minutes is the other half of the point:

WaterScuba diving, swimming, jet skiing, kayaking
AirSkydiving, base jumping off towers
GroundStreet racing, police chases through the bayou
DowntimeBench pressing, shooting hoops, strip clubs, nightclubs

Story beats include a trap house drug bust and work for a local businessman and nightclub owner named Boobie Ike. One commenter summed up the scale better than any press release: "The building jump shows just how huge and beautiful the world will be."

The soundtrack is already the best in the series

Fourteen tracks were identified in the Extended Look alone, and the range is absurd:

Elderbrook & Bob Moses — "Inner Light" is the one people are losing their minds over ("I literally got goosebumps when Inner Light started playing" — 2,100 likes). Alongside it: Phil Collins — "Against All Odds", Depeche Mode — "People Are People", Def Leppard — "Love Bites", Cliff Richard — "Devil Woman", Prefab Sprout — "Cars and Girls", The Bellamy Brothers — "Let Your Love Flow", Kodak Black — "Skrilla", Sexyy Red & Tay Keith — "Pound Town", Birdman & Lil Wayne — "Pop Bottles", Chimbala x Omega — "Se Me Nota", and Aluna & Jayda G — "Mine O' Mine".

Eighties soft rock next to Florida rap next to dembow. That is Vice City.

Not everyone is completely sold

It would be dishonest to write this up as universal euphoria, because it was not.

The most common serious criticism — argued well by PC Gamer, whose writer came away "wowed by Vice City and underwhelmed by Rockstar's same old missions" — is that the world looks generational while the mission design looks familiar. Drive to a marker, shoot a room full of people, drive away. The density around the missions is extraordinary: eating, drinking, sleeping, working out, hanging out with friends, dirt bike racing, robbing stores. But the missions themselves, in that reading, are the same structure Rockstar has shipped since GTA IV, wrapped in far better technology.

There is a second complaint doing the rounds too, and it is a practical one: there is no disc. Rockstar confirmed the "physical" edition is a box containing a download code, which has annoyed collectors and anyone on a slow connection. Some fans have said they will skip the game over it.

Neither point is a reason not to be excited. Both are a reason to keep expectations attached to reality — this is a Grand Theft Auto game, made enormously better looking, not a reinvention of what a Grand Theft Auto mission is.

The line Pakistani buyers should read twice

Rockstar's own description of the video says this:

"Captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5... Grand Theft Auto VI plays best on PlayStation 5."

Everything you just watched was a PS5 running the game. Not a PC, not a target render, not "representative footage."

Now the honest part, because this is where excitement turns into a Rs 375,000 decision. Looking that good does not mean running at 60fps. Digital Foundry's Richard Leadbetter was asked directly whether a PS5 Pro could manage 4K60 on GTA 6, and answered: "This isn't a GPU problem, it's a CPU problem." The Pro uses the same processor as the standard PS5, and GTA's bottleneck has always been simulation — traffic, crowds, physics — not pixels.

Expect 30fps, possibly a 40fps mode on a 120Hz screen. Which means the Extended Look is roughly what a normal PS5 Slim will give you, and the Pro buys a cleaner image rather than a smoother one. We went through that maths properly in which PlayStation to buy for GTA 6 — worth reading before anyone talks you into the expensive box on the strength of this video.

83 days

That is what is left. 19 November 2026, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only — no PC version, which is its own conversation.

If this video did what Rockstar intended and you are now thinking about a console, the useful reading is short:

And if you are upgrading, sell your old console now — prices for last-gen hardware peak before a launch this size, not after.

Quick answers

How long is the GTA 6 Extended Look? 26 minutes and 48 seconds.

Is it real gameplay? Yes. Rockstar states it was "captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5" — not a target render or pre-rendered cinematic.

Where can I watch it? It premiered on Netflix, then went live on Rockstar's YouTube channel and the official GTA VI site. It is embedded above.

When does GTA 6 come out? 19 November 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Is GTA 6 coming to PC? Not announced. Rockstar's history suggests 2027–28 at the earliest — we covered what that means here.

Will GTA 6 run at 60fps? Almost certainly not. Digital Foundry expects 30fps, possibly a 40fps mode, because the bottleneck is the CPU — which the PS5 Pro does not improve.

How big is the GTA 6 map? Reportedly around three times Red Dead Redemption 2's and twice GTA 5's, per hands-on previews.

Is there a GTA 6 disc? No. The "physical" edition is a box containing a one-time download code. Everyone downloads roughly 250GB.

What is Cyberleek? An anonymous leaker who published alleged GTA 6 footage and map details days before the official reveal, prompting DMCA takedowns from Take-Two.

How much does GTA 6 cost? $79.99 standard, $99.99 Ultimate — roughly Rs 22,000 and Rs 28,000 before regional store pricing.

One last thing

There is a comment on that video with 1,100 likes that gets at something real:

"Crazy how we used to watch GTA trailers as kids and now we're sitting here grown, watching the same dream finally become real"

GTA V came out in September 2013. A lot of people who queued for it at Hafeez Centre as teenagers now have jobs, families and a lot less free time. Thirteen years is long enough that this stops being about a video game — it is about a generation getting one more thing they were promised.

We built Harib for the people in that comment section: gamers, tech obsessives, and the honest shopkeepers who have been selling to them for years. Transparent prices, sellers you can actually check, and somewhere to find what you want without guessing what it should cost.
